Pravachana Karthas or Keerthankars usually have a set of topics or Nirupans. They keep rotating the same topics, same songs or abhangs program after program. For most of them it is just a profession. For Sri Anna it is a passion. He has never considered pravachanam as a profession nor has he taken the sambavanai given to him in his name. To reveal the truth for very many years Sri Anna refused any sambavanai ( honorarium) given to him after roaring lectures from his nabhi ( navel) for 7 or 9 full days. Much much later he realised that the funds could be taken, if not in his personal name, for a trust and through it they could do much more service. Thus he would hand over the unopened covers to trustees of the respective trusts he had established.
The Lectures that he has propounded to our bewilderment are as follows :
1) Srimad Ramayanam : Navaham ( 9 days, 2 sessions each )
Since 2008 Sri Anna makes it a point to do a Navaham at Delhi Rajaram Mandir built by Sri Anna himself.( Apologise for my omission in my previous chapter on his establishments). Sri Anna wanted to establish a temple in our capital city as it is the ever green Indraprastha. At the beginning he wanted to do the prathishta of Sri Krishna as he was the one who sowed the seeds for this Rajadhani(capital). However it ended up being a temple of Lord Sri RajaRam with Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman. Here Hanuman sports the Abhaya mudra and stands next to Lakshmana in Equal status unlike all other temples where he is a dasa. Probably Lord Rama wanted to come there because it is Dasarathpuri, an area in Delhi and Ram is always Rajaram, eternally ruling our land.
2) Thani sloki from Ramayanam: ( Periyavachan Pillai's work)
3) Srimad Bhagavatham
4) Mahabharatham: This needs a special mention. Suddenly 10 years back in 2013 during His 80th Jayanthi He made a bewildering announcement.” We shall have a 83 day series on Mahabharatha. I will do the lecture series for 83 days.” “ What, 83 days ? Humanly impossible, said many. But Sri Anna usually doesn’t do the humanly possible acts, after all. It’s always superhuman, divine, extra than the extra-ordinary. The 83 day event happened at Ayodhya Mandapam in full grandeur. Chathurveda parayanam, Premika Granthams, felictation of 100 Ganapadis along with the Magnum opus 83 day Mahabharatha series.
Kanakabhishekam was performed to Sri Anna, who in turn donated the kanaka ( gold coins) to the ganapadis and the remaining was used for the golden roof covering of Sri Villiputhur Andal's Gopuram.
